I am the type of person who loves to hold on to the little things. I am a skilled collector of the magic in ordinary moments, from the smell of a loved one’s skin to the exact hue of a trodden autumn leaf.

At some point, no matter how hard you try to hold onto these moments, they pass, and new ones are formed. It is your choice whether you let them go and move on or stay frozen in moments of remembered residue.

It might feel like the hardest thing in the world to do; you might have to rally all of your inner troops. But in the end, it is best to let it all go, set it all free. You do not have to rush, but whether you’re completely ready or not, choosing to remain in the what-was takes more effort than escaping the very things you long for. So save your strength. Allow each passing day to behold past moments. Life comes in waves; it ebbs with grief and flows with contentment. Release and just float. Allow the wave's peak to gracefully usher you towards uncharted shores, revealing treasure, dreams, and destinations beyond your wildest dreams.

And if you're afraid that the good things from the past won't return, be kind and remind yourself. By letting go, you're making space for even more, even better, even deeper. You are opening the door to richer moments that will exceed your expectations.
